Star Wars inspired role play sim in Second Life
Little note about the matter:
Sim in Second Life is a piece of virtual land. In SWRP usualy called "planet".
If you have will and skills you can build here your own home, club, shop or role play area.
One day on the group meeting we decided to build Lehon. It was many years ago. Can say all this time was not easy to stay online. Many issues and challenges hurt our brave sith community, but we are still here and we are not alone.
When I started SWRP in mid-2008, FCRS was the most popular CS system. Our members were mostly from the RCS community, but the main system was also used by other groups, such as the Potentium Order on Zonama Zekot and later on Bespin. The Jedi group KOJ (Kalwey Order of the Jedi) also used it. You can find more about this in the Hall of Fame on my sim, which tells a fascinating story about the events on Lehon. After so many years, that sense of brotherhood is still palpable, something I humblely believe is lacking these days. After the decline of FCRS, the community moved to new systems like ILM-CS and others. Some groups of "Darksiders" succumbed to elitism and argued over the foolish concept of the "true Sith," which ultimately led to their downfall, as was the case with Dlots. Now, for those who still think someone deserves a title just because they've been around since the beginning of SWRP, let me say this: This is a game where your rules are no better than anyone else's. This kind of behavior has ruined so-called SWRP in Second Life from the start. The problems persist. First, the core common RP-issues:
Declining quality and "traffic" instead of RP: Many sims focus on high traffic rather than high-quality roleplaying, attracting players who prioritize shootouts and stats over immersion.
"God-RP" by owners: A major criticism is that owners or moderators abuse their authority to impose narratives, feel untouchable, or break rules to favor their friends.
Extremely toxic and dramatic: Communities can be dramatic, with "emotional vampires" and cliques forming, making it difficult for new members to join.
Strict rules for backstory and appearance: Some Sims have become too restrictive, imposing strict rules on avatar appearance, such as prohibiting non-human or anime styles, which undermines Second Life's diverse, user-generated ethos.
Technical limitations (delays and bugs): Technical issues like severe lag, disappearing inventories, and slow servers during peak hours frustrate users.
"Abandoned" communities: While some popular areas exist, many RP Sims are often empty, giving the impression that there are more rooms than active participants.
Out-of-character (OOC) conflicts: High emotional involvement can blur the lines between role-playing-appropriate actions and non-role-playing feelings, leading to intense drama.
Specific challenges in SWRP communities:
Combat System Controversies: Disputes over which combat meters to use are frequent, with some systems perceived as unfair because they grant enhanced stats to specific, often experienced, players or classes.
Cliquey and Exclusive Atmosphere: New members often report difficulty integrating, feeling ignored, or being ghosted. Established, "approved" cliques often form, making it difficult for newcomers to find a place in the narrative.
High Turnover (Churn) and Low Population: Many SWRP regions suffer from low active player counts, with many sims operating in "dead hours" or appearing empty despite being active in search, often leading to a fragmented, low-population environment.
Immersion Issues: There is a conflict between "gamers" (those who only want to shoot and get stats) and "roleplayers" (those seeking immersive storytelling), leading to situations where combat overshadows character development.
Leadership and Drama: Problems arise when sim owners are also the main characters or group leaders, often resulting in unchangeable leadership and, consequently, unresolved in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC) drama.
Avatar Restrictions: Some, but not all, SWRP communities restrict specific avatar types, such as child avatars, which can limit creative expression and hinder newcomers who might use them for non-human characters like Jawas.
Content and Rule Changes: Critical, abrupt changes to simulation rules by creators can often lead to a loss of interest and a reduction in visitors.
Whether you experienced it yourself, whether you agree with me or not, one thing is clear: the days when the SWRP sim crashed because of 100 avatars are over. And I remember it well.
Planet description
Lehon was a tropical world that inhabited a remote and relatively unknown corner of the galaxy known as the Tempered Wastes, a largely void area of space. Its surface was largely covered by oceans which were dotted by numerous clusters of islands and archipelagos. It was the only habitable planet in the Lehon system, but it shared an orbit around its primary star with the Star Forge, an ancient Rakatan space station and factory which drew its fuel directly from the system's primary star. The planet itself was orbited by two small moons, but one of them was close enough to be visible from the surface during daylight, covering a significant portion of the sky. More about
Following books and our financial capacities (not last theme in SL) we build our plot with all needed features for good RP. Check please our path for see all "reincarnation" of our ideas. On this page you will find info about our group and personal holocrons, like bio, about most famous group members (in fact about all, who presented own storyline).
In present time we are on this region. Last one is imho very good landscaped and less lag.
The area is multi-tiered: there's a surface with an arrival and landing point, a meditation area, an arena, a small medbay, and some rentals. The dojo is located in a separate area; to teleport there, click on the Rakata teleporter upon arrival. You can visit us anytime, just need to install one of Second Life's viewers. If you will join our group for any reasons, please IM me in world. My name is Businka Koskinen. The profile is easily found in Second Life using the search. Several Sith groups claim to have their base on Lehon. Therefore, it is currently a Dark Side region, independent of other groups. The Order of the Sith Lords has its headquarters here. Since 2010, only a few members remain active. In accordance with their tradition, the Sith do not send out application forms, and group membership is usually closed. However, you are welcome to inquire, and we will certainly find a solution.
If you like Star Wars, if you will know more about Force or you just need fight with sabers or guns, you can log in. Will see, it will be interesting anyway. Enjoy to stay and have fun!
